Situation in Pakistan
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has instructed all telcos in Pakistan, including Telenor Pakistan, to shut down access to mobile internet services nationwide on 9 May, 2023. Customers have access to voice calls and SMS messages.
Telenor Pakistan is deeply concerned with the events in Pakistan and has taken up the matter with the authorities to ensure the restoration of mobile internet services soon. The people of Pakistan rely on the internet to stay connected and informed, and to access essential services such as healthcare and banking.
Mobile internet services have been restored on evening 12 May 2023.
