Easypaisa was launched by Telenor Group and Tameer Bank in 2009 and has since grown into a pioneering force in digital and branchless banking in Pakistan. Today, it has over 55 million registered users, equivalent to one in every four Pakistani adults and a robust 31% women user base.

Strengthened by Telenor Group’s partnership with Ant Financial in 2019, Easypaisa became an independent mobile financial services company and, in January 2025, the first digital bank approved for commercial operations. Today, Easypaisa Digital Bank delivers fully online banking services and continues to operate independently, separate from the sale of Telenor Pakistan to PTCL.
