Background
Mr. Fridtjof Rusten is CEO, Telenor Asia. He leads the Telenor Asia office in Singapore, which is responsible for Telenor’s business activities in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand and Pakistan.
As a senior executive, he has deep international experience across business operations, headquarters and ownership roles in large multinational listed companies, with a focus on delivering shareholder value.
Fridtjof has worked in Telenor for 25 years. Prior to his current role, Fridtjof held several senior leadership roles in Telenor’s businesses across Europe and Asia as well as at the headquarter. These include CFO Telenor Asia, CEO of Telenor Pakistan and Chief Transformation Officer for True Corporation in Thailand. He has held the role of CFO for Telenor Pakistan, dtac (prior to the amalgamation with True) and Grameenphone alongside other executive roles in Telenor entities.
Fridtjof also has more than 20 years of Board experience and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Grameenphone in Bangladesh and CelcomDigi in Malaysia. He has previously served on the Board of Telenor Linx, a global unit that combines traditional core telco with digital capabilities, as well as VimpelCom Ltd (now Veon).
Education
Fridtjof holds a Masters of Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
