Together with Finnish partner Elisa, Telenor has entered into an agreement with construction services group YIT for supply of Nordic communications solutions. For Telenor, the contract is worth an estimated NOK 100 million.

YIT has chosen Telenor and Elisa as its principal supplier of ICT solutions in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The agreement encompasses supplies of Nordic Connect, Telenor's Nordic IP network, parts of the mobile communication services and IP telephony, One Phone Concept and switchboard solution inContact. In Sweden the agreement covers the data communication services. As part of the agreement, YIT will be equipped with solutions that will enable the group to link all its Nordic hubs through one single telephony and data communications network.

The agreement is of a 3 ½-year duration, and the annual value for Telenor is estimated at around NOK 28 million (excl. Finland).

"When we are making major investments we are always on the lookout for partners that are genuinely committed to cooperate with us in the development of management concepts and systems that encompass the entire YIT group. Telenor's and Elisa's experience from Nordic ICT and business will definitely enable us to extract synergies and cut costs," said Tutu Wegelius-Lehtonen, Director of Sourcing and Logistics at YIT.

"More and more companies recognise a need for communications solutions that function across the Nordic borders, and we are very pleased that YIT has chosen Telenor and Elisa as its Nordic ICT suppliers. With Nordic Connect, our customers achieve advantages of scale as we are able to offer them products and services that are applicable all over the Nordic region. Through our partnership with Elisa, we are able to also include Finland in our supplies," said Kjell-Erik Tenold, Head of Telenor AB and responsible for Nordic corporate customers at Telenor.
