: Watch live transmissions, highlights, and recaps from next year's Winter Olympics in Torino directly on your mobile phone - free of charge! This has now been made possible through an exclusive mobile TV collaboration between Telenor and NRK.

"We are very much looking forward to the Winter Olympics in Torino. We are pleased to be able to offer the Olympics to our customers, through our collaboration with NRK, and we are especially keen to follow the men's alpine skiing, considering how well the Norwegian team has performed recently. Telenor Mobil customers will be able to follow the games from hour to hour, provided they own a mobile handset capable of supporting Mobile TV," says Division Director Berit Kjøll, Head of Telenor's activities in the Consumer Market.

Together, Telenor and NRK have secured the rights to present the Olympics to Norwegian mobile customers. Telenor is also the Norwegian alpine skiing team's main sponsor, as well as one of six national main sponsors of the Norwegian Olympic Committee.

The partnership agreement will secure Telenor Mobil customers exclusive and free-of-charge access to the following services from NRK:

- Live transmissions from the Olympics

- Highlights from fascinating Olympic events

- Daily recaps of current Olympic events

NRK also offers a number of additional services, e.g. competitions, results services, medal rankings, news and reports etc.

Services will be available on Telenor's mobile portal wap.telenormobil.no or wap.nrk.no . To gain access to Mobile TV, users will need handsets capable of supporting UMTS, the new high-speed third generation (3G) mobile network that Telenor is rolling out all over the country, or GSM handsets supporting EDGE. Telenor launched 3G exactly one year ago, and since then, both the customer base and traffic volumes have increased dramatically. At year-end, Telenor expects that close to 100,000 3G handsets will be connected to the network, and the 3G technology is expected to really take off during 2006.

"Offering such extensive content from the Winter Olympics involves significant costs for Telenor, but these are costs that we are willing to take. Our customers are now given an extensive opportunity to watch top quality sport events, completely free of charge, and they will be able to follow the progress of the Norwegian athletes wherever they find themselves," says Head of Division Berit Kjøll at Telenor.

"The mobile phone is developing into an increasingly important channel for distributing news and entertainment. At NRK, we want our services to reach people where they expect, and want us to be. Our collaboration with Telenor, which involves extensive mobile coverage from the Winter Olympics, is very exciting. In this way we are able to extend and supplement our coverage from the events in Torino," says NRK's editor of New Media, Are Nundal.
