Update on the situation in Bangladesh

Acting on the initiative from the administration of Telenor, the Telenor Board of Directors held a conference call on Tuesday morning with an update on the situation with respect to Grameenphone's suppliers in Bangladesh.
The Board was given a briefing on three issues:
- Status in Bangladesh and all relevant measures
- Telenor's plans to strengthen its efforts in respect of Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to subcontractors in other markets
- Telenor's plans to review and strengthen the follow-up and implementation of the Group's Codes of Conduct
"Telenor's Board of Directors is actively engaged in this issue. The CEO has the full confidence of the Board and we are satisfied with the initiatives that the administration has taken," said Chairman Harald Norvik.
