On Tuesday, TV 2 Interaktiv and Telenor launch solutions that allow for an entirely new way to follow Tippeligaen (Norway's "Premier League") and Norwegian football. Together with Norsk Toppfotball (NTF), they now present fxt.no - the football portal which will become Norway's leading meeting place for those interested in football.

In launching fxt.no, which will offer Tippeligaen and much more from Norwegian elite football, on the Internet and via mobile phones, TV 2 Interaktiv, NTF and Telenor are exploiting modern broadband and mobile technology to the full and allowing football fans to follow their favourite team almost anywhere.

After TV 2 Gruppen and Telenor bought the rights to broadcast Norwegian league matches on all platforms, the companies instigated an ambitious plan to put forward the best possible package to all those interested in football in Norway.

"Norway is now becoming a leading football nation, at least when it comes to ways football fans can follow their favourite team," says Kjetil Siem, Director in NTF.

"Fxt.no will be Norway's leading football portal. No other website in Norway - and perhaps no other website worldwide - offers the same total, interactive football experience as we do," says Odd Harald Hauge, Project Manager for TV2 Interaktiv's football project.

"Telenor's aim is to meet people's communication needs, irrespective of where they find themselves and this cooperation with TV2 and NTF fits perfectly with this vision. Together, we make it possible for football fans to follow their favourite team live, not only on TV, but also on the Internet and via their mobile phones," says Berit Kjøll, Director for the consumer market at Telenor.

On Tuesday, Telenor presented the broadband and mobile packages they offer to football fans. The keenest fans can use their mobile phones or PCs to watch league and cup matches for men and women and all of Norway's national side's home games. A mobile package will also cover European football from TV2 and Telenor, including goal alerts from most European leagues, the Champion's League and the World Cup.

All Tippeligaen matches will be broadcast live over the Internet and to mobile phones. You will be able to watch up to seven games simultaneously via the Internet or your mobile phone, and zap between the different games. You will also be able to receive goal alerts, with video flashes of all goals.

About the football rights agreement:
Last summer, TV 2 Gruppen and Telenor, through Telenor Broadcast, bought the rights to Tippeligaen and Norwegian elite football from the Football Association of Norway. Since then, TV 2 Gruppen and Telenor Broadcast have sold the Internet and mobile rights to Telenor Nordic and TV 2 Interaktiv. This agreement allows for the full distribution of Tippeligaen and Norwegian elite football via the Internet and mobile phones.
