Trond Ø. Westlie has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Telenor ASA. He will take up the position on 15 September, taking over from Torstein Moland. Moland has decided to step down in connection with his upcoming 60th birthday.

Westlie is currently Director of Finance at Telenor ASA. He is a Certified Public Auditor and was educated in Norway. Westlie joined Telenor a year ago, from Aker Kværner ASA, previously Aker Maritime ASA, where he was Executive Vice President and CFO. Westlie has previously held a number of executive positions at Aker RGI ASA.

"Now that Torstein Moland has decided to scale down his activities, I am pleased to see that we have internal candidates capable of filling this position at Telenor. During his time with Telenor, Trond Westlie has shown that he has considerable and broad experience, and I am looking forward to his contributions to the Group in his new role as CFO," said CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas.

Torstein Moland will continue to hold a part-time position at Telenor ASA, as a special advisor to the CEO. Moland will be given a special responsibility for Telenor's commitments in Ukraine.
