On Monday, November 26, Telenor begins the first phase of its move to its new headquarters at Fornebu. By the end of 2002, more than 7,500 Telenor employees will have one of Norway's leading IT centres, located at the country's former national airport on the outskirts of Oslo, as their new working address. The move also signals the start of the consolidation of the remainder of Telenor's activities within the Oslo region.
The new headquarters at Fornebu are part of Telenor's goal of creating the most advanced work environment possible for one of the most progressive companies in the Nordic region.

Initially, 1,600 employees from Telenor Business Solutions, R&D and IDT will be moving to Fornebu, followed by a further 2,000 employees at the end of February. The last wave will be arriving between June and August 2002.

The moving process is scheduled to be completed by October 2002. The new headquarters will be officially opened during November 2002. Although the moving process began on November 26, 2001, construction will continue until the moving process is completed.

Telenor's 140,000 sq/m headquarters has underground parking for 1,600 cars and has cost a total of NOK 4.4 billion. Telenor will save about NOK 70 million per year in office costs through the new consolidation.
