The Norwegian Competition Authority (NCA) has today approved Telenor's acquisition of Norwegian mobile operator Talkmore. The acquisition price is NOK 135 million (enterprise value). Talkmore's revenues in 2006 were NOK 178 million.

" The approval from the NCA was anticipated, but we are nevertheless pleased that the NCA, after a thorough consideration of the issue, did not find any reasons to stop or limit the transaction," says Morten Karlsen Sørby, Executive Vice President and Head of Telenor Nordic. He continues:

"Talkmore operates within the low-price segment of the Norwegian mobile market. We are pleased that we have managed to secure a substantial customer base and key experience through this acquisition. Telenor shall be a leading player within this segment."

Talkmore will remain a separate brand and the company will continue as an operational entity with the same market focus. All employees will receive offers of continued employment in the company.

Today's 60,000 customers are served either through Telenor's or NetCom's network. Those served by the latter will in due time be transferred to Telenor's network. Telenor will make every effort to ensure that this transition will be as smooth as possible. Customers will still enjoy favourable prices, and in addition they now will also benefit from Telenor's extensive coverage.
