: The board of Nye Ahus has awarded Telenor, in close cooperation with HP and other partners, the contract for procurement and construction of ICT infrastructure to the hospital. The contract has a value of approximately NOK 280 million, inclusive of VAT.

The new university hospital, which is under construction at Lørenskog outside Oslo, is due to be completed on 1 October 2008. This contract confirms the strong position that the consortium led by Telenor and Hewlett-Packard Norway has gained with respect to supplies of ICT solutions to the Norwegian health services.

"We are naturally very pleased and proud to be the preferred choice of Nye Ahus. We see this contract as confirmation that we are successful in our efforts to combine people and technology. At Telenor, we look forward to be part of the development of a future-oriented hospital, covering the entire Akershus region," said Executive Vice President Morten Karlsen Sørby, Head of Telenor's operations in the Nordic market.

The contract with Nye Ahus involves procurement and construction of the ICT structure, including projecting, installation, testing and implementation. This comprises data networks with network equipment, access points for wireless communication, tools and solutions for network administration, firewalls and security solutions.

Furthermore, the contract involves a telephony solution, with wireless telephony, a message exchange with calling system functions and patient signal systems, patient terminal programmes, TV distribution over IP, and supply and installation of various audiovisual solutions in auditoriums, staff restaurants, meeting rooms and seminar rooms. Cardiac AS, YIT Building Systems AS, Abeo AS, Umoe IKT AS and BEST Teleprodukter AB are among the partners of the Telenor and HP consortium. In January 2004, this consortium won a similar agreement with the regional hospital Helsebygg Midt-Norge/St.Olavs Hospital in Trondheim.

"Telenor and HP worked closely together during the construction of Telenor's new headquarters at Fornebu, as well as during the construction of the new St. Olavs Hospital. We are now looking forward to continuing this partnership, concentrating our resources and experience to develop cutting edge ICT infrastructure at Nye Ahus. This contract involves comprehensive services, and the cooperation between Telenor and HP will be key. We have established a joint project management, and our two highly professional service divisions complement each other well. In addition, we have also established a solid value chain of quality subcontractors," said Frode Haugli, managing director of HP Norway.

Nye Ahus shall provide local and central hospital services for approximately 340,000 people in Akershus and North Oslo. The financial framework, within which the project shall be supplied, has a NOK 7.6 billion ceiling on expenditure. The regional health enterprise Helse Øst is the owner of the building. Approximately 113,000 square meters will be established within a new agglomeration of buildings, whereas approximately 23,000 square meters will be established within already existing buildings.
