Telenor wants to stand out as the most attractive mobile operator for families, and is making significant changes to the mobile subscription plan FriFamilie.

As part of the effort to enhance the FriFamilie subscription plan, the start-up fee of NOK 0.59 will immediately be removed. The minute rate is already set at NOK 0, which means that calls within families can be made free of charge.

"This is the start of a price offensive from Telenor. We want to attain the position as Norway's most attractive mobile operator," said Division Director Berit Kjøll at Telenor. "We now present what we consider to be the most inexpensive and best mobile phone solution for a large number of families and couples. By removing the start-up fee for FriFamilie, family members will now be able to call each other free of charge," said Kjøll.

Already today, customers on private mobile subscription plans may call other family members free of charge, irrespective of whether they are on prepaid subscription plans, djuice control, business subscription plans, or if they answer at their the fixed-line telephone at home.

As of December, customers can also call other family members from mobile phones with prepaid subscription plans and djuice control, without any charge. This will give children an opportunity to call their homes even when their prepaid accounts are empty.

"FriFamilie is an attractive option for families and couples who call each other frequently. Offering free calls to fixed-line phones in customers' homes and mobile phones, as well as free calls to and from mobile phones with prepaid subscription plans, this is a tailor-made solution that will suit all members of the family," said Berit Kjøll.

In order to take up the offer families must have at least two, and maximum six, privately-owned mobile subscription plans with Telenor. It is also a requirement that family subscriptions are registered with a person who is 18 years or older.
