Telenor announced today at the important data and telecommunications fair CeBit in Hannover that it will expand sales of its ASP platform Login to 13 new European countries, in addition to the existing sales in Scandinavia.
The business unit Telenor Business Solutions, which has developed and manages the ASP platform, Login, has secured an extensive distribution organisation for its planned expansion into Europe through an agreement with Nextra. Login is already sold in the UK through Nextra, and it is currently being launched on the German market. Nextra will introduce Login according to plan in all 13 countries where Nextra currently has operations over the next two years.

Next generation ASP platform
At the same time as the plans for the European expansion were made public at Nextra's press conference today, Telenor demonstrated the next generation ASP platform for Login, which is the result of the development cooperation announced earlier with the US company iCan SP Inc. The demonstration showed that Login has developed a platform that will give the customers improved accessibility and service.

The new system will give the customers a detailed summary of their use patterns and service level, and the accessibility has been improved at the same time through a new Web interface. The new platform gives Telenor Business Solutions, who manages Login, a long list of benefits in the form of simpler and more secure administration, combined with the opportunity to specify and control the ASP operations in a brand new way.

«We consider the establishment of a European distribution organisation to be extremely important, and we can give the first demonstration of the next generation of Login at the same time, says Tarje Holskil, division director», Telenor Business Solutions. «We are in the process of building up a solid position in the Scandinavian countries and the agreement with Nextra gives us a good entry ticket to the European markets. ASP is a form of distribution that is showing strong growth in Europe, and we hope that this cooperation will also give us a good foothold outside our own home markets as well», says Holskil.

«The rollout of Login to the countries where Nextra is represented adds a very important element to our product portfolio. We believe that the functionality of Login will contribute to strengthening our competitive advantages as a total provider of communications solutions to small and medium-sized businesses», says Nextra's Managing Director Morten Lundal.

«The demonstration of the next generation of the Login platform shows that we have a product that is in the forefront of technological developments», says Fredrik Hilding, development director for Login.
«The options for specifying use and service levels are very unique and advanced, also in relation to the major international software suppliers. We can now specify how much a customer has used the various programs and what level of service the customers have received, right down to the minute. We believe that this will further increase the use of ASP», Hilding concludes.
