As of 8 November, customers in the residential market will have three different subscription plans to choose from. 670,000 Norwegian households could save money by choosing the subscription plan that fits their pattern of usage. In December, Telenor will also introduce a new and customer-friendly solution for customers who have Telenor as their overall supplier of home phone, mobile and Internet.

Telenor is committed to its goal of becoming a more user-friendly company. Based on customer call records, Telenor will offer customers advice on which subscription plan to choose. The main principle is that those who make fewer calls pay less in set-up and subscription charges, but slightly more in call charges, whereas frequent callers pay higher subscription fees, but less in call charges. Telenor will contact customers who stand to benefit from this offer.

Customers whose total call charges do not normally exceed NOK 240 per month should choose the Mini subscription, and customers whose total call charges exceed NOK 570 per month should choose Pluss. All other customers are best served by remaining on their current subscription plans. 20 per cent of Telenor's customers will benefit from choosing Mini , and 25 per cent of the customers will benefit from choosing Pluss . The full price structure is shown in the table below.

Telenor is also introducing a user-friendly solution for customers who buy home phone, mobile and Internet services from Telenor. The main features of this solution, to be introduced at the outset of 2005, is joint invoicing, enhanced customer services and a five per cent discount from the amount charged, as a result of reduced administration costs. Customers who already have three products will not have to contact Telenor to learn more about this offer, as current information will be issued.

"Telenor's customers will see that we are making an effort to introduce new and improved solutions," said Berit Kjøll, Director of the Consumer Market at Telenor. "During 2004 we have introduced child porn filters for our Internet customers, Entry , which offers easy access to the Internet on the mobile, a compulsory surfing filter that offers protection against modem kidnapping and anti-virus included for all Internet subscriptions. We hope that today's news will serve to confirm our commitment to our customers," she said. "After all, 86 per cent of Norwegian households still use their home phones," said Kjøll.
