Telenor Mobil today launched a new youth subscription branded djuice®. The two subscriptions, djuice and djuice kontant (prepaid), will replace the current OYO subscriptions. Djuice has, since 2000, been Telenor's WAP and mobile Internet venture, but is now relaunched as a separate youth subscription.

The djuice subscription launch in Norway is an innovation in the Nordic region as Telenor now has a common brand for its mobile youth venture in Sweden and Norway, opening up for cross-border technological-, marketing- and product related benefits.

"Djuice is a subscription tailor made for the younger mobile users, and will be the market's most all-encompassing youth subscription," commented Per Christian Andersen, head of Telenor Mobile's youth venture. "With lower and simpler prices on calls and SMS, we are strengthening our competitive edge. In addition we are including an extensive package containing a volume of free MMS usage, Java games and one month of free WAP usage. This package is included both on pre- and postpaid subscriptions. Prepaid customers will also be offered 15 per cent extra airtime if they replenish their account via SMS or by Mobilhandel (Telenor Mobil's mobile commerce service)," Andersen said.

Djuice customers can access djuice.no for special offers, news and updates concerning the djuice subscription.

"We see how mobile telephony has developed in the youth segment and that the mobile phone today functions as a necessary 'digital servant and organizer' for coordinating work, leisure and social networking. With the new djuice, Telenor Mobil is the first operator to integrate speech based services with other digital services adapted for the lifepatterns of the young Norwegian consumers," Andersen said.
