Skåne chooses Telenor

Telenor Business Solutions in Sweden and Kommunförbundet (Swedish Association of Local Authorities) in the Swedish county Skåne, have entered into a telephony agreement that includes 28 out of a total of 33 municipalities in the county. The agreement is worth SEK 150 million over a period of three years and provides the municipalities with a complete solution for fixed telephony and mobile services.

"This is a great solution for our municipalities. The agreement considerably reduces telephony costs, while at the same time offering all who contact us access to state-of-the-art telephony services," said Sven-Erik Johansson in Kommunförbundet Skåne.

The agreement with the municipalities in Skåne is the most extensive Telenor Business Solutions has entered into in Sweden. The commitment is of a three-year duration and has a total value of SEK 150 million.

"Yet again we have received confirmation of Telenor's competitive strength in this market. Telenor Business Solutions AB is undergoing rapid growth at the moment. Only a few weeks ago we announced a Nordic partnership with Orkla of similar scale. Our competitive situation is not worsened by the fact that Telia is involved in merger talks with Sonera," said Lars Persson, CEO of Telenor Business Solutions AB.
