Telenor consolidates its position within the Scandinavian mobile marketing sector by creating a new company, More Mobile Relations. The new company enables businesses and organisations to strengthen customer relations through the use of mobile communications.

More Mobile Relations is established through the acquisitions of Active Loop Marketing in Norway and N'volve in Denmark. Both companies are leaders within their respective markets. Going forward, More Mobile Relations also aims to be present in Sweden. With Telenor as majority owner, More Mobile Relations will have access to important know-how relating to mobile technology and user behaviours. Telenor's share of the new company is currently 94 per cent, the rest of the company is owned by the founders of the acquired companies. Telenor's share is expected to be between 75 and 90 per cent when the company is fully established.

From mass communications to relations building
More Mobile Relations helps companies and organisations to evolve from using mass communications into building relations directly with their customers through mobile technology, on the users' terms. For instance, customers will receive an SMS when a package has arrived to the post office, receive information about the ski resort they are visiting via Bluetooth, or be invited to join the fan club of their local football team.

"We are currently witnessing how mobile internet is picking up and creating new demands from consumers. Additionally, we are also experiencing an emerging interest in mobile marketing services. This opens up interesting business opportunities for Telenor. Mobile marketing is still in an early stage in Scandinavia, and More is well positioned to grow this market," says Christian Ursin-Holm, Vice President New Business in Telenor and Chairman of the Board of More Mobile Relations.

High ambitions
"Our ambitions for More are high, we are aiming to become the preferred partner within mobile relations in Scandinavia. From day one we have an exciting customer portfolio and successful operations through Active Loop Marketing and N'volve. Combined with Telenor's telecoms expertise and unique insight into user behaviours, this will make us an attractive option," says Tom Lindberg, managing director of More Mobile Relations.

In 2007, combined revenues for Active Loop Marketing and N'volve were NOK 14 million. The two companies together employ 12 people.
