Richard Olav Aa new Chief Financial Officer in Telenor Group

Richard Olav Aa has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Telenor. He will be responsible for Telenor's financial management and be part of the Group Executive Management. Richard Olav Aa is today Investment Director of Arendals Fossekompani ASA.
"I am very pleased that Richard Olav Aa has accepted to take on the position as CFO in Telenor with the responsibility for the financial management of the group's global operations. He will contribute with new perspectives and experiences in an important discipline, while at the same continue to manage the group's accomplished financial control systems," says Jon Fredrik Baksaas, CEO and President of the Telenor Group. "Operational focus and good financial governance is one of the characteristics of Telenor and Richard Olav Aa is a highly qualified leader that will contribute to a continued strong position in this field," said Jon Fredrik Baksaas.

Richard Olav Aa has since 2007 been Investment Director in Arendals Fossekompani. In this position he has been responsible for the company's industrial and financial engagements. In connection with this position he has held and holds a number of board appointments.
He has through several years held management positions in Elkem, both in Norway and the USA, and he was the CFO of Elkem in the period from 1999 to 2005. He has also been Managing Director of Norsk Vekst AS in the period 2005 to 2007 and Executive Vice President for business development in Bertel O. Steen AS.
Richard Olav Aa has a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen, specializing in strategies and finance.
