(Fornebu, 26 June 2018) The CEO of Telenor Sweden, Patrik Hofbauer, has decided to pursue opportunities outside Telenor Group. The search for a new CEO is ongoing.
Patrik Hofbauer has decided to accept a position outside Telenor Group, and will step down from his position as CEO of Telenor Sweden effective 14 December 2018. Hofbauer has worked for Telenor during 11 years and has served in senior positions in both Norway and Sweden. For the past four years, he has been at the helm of Telenor Sweden.
“Sweden is an important market for Telenor; it’s one that is similar to our home market but where we are in a challenger position. Under Patrik’s leadership, Telenor Sweden has taken important steps to transform itself into a digital frontrunner. We’re sad to see him go, but we’re also proud to see Telenor leaders take on new challenges in another business area that requires balancing responsibility with commercial acumen and drive. I wish him all the best in his future role,” said Sigve Brekke, President & CEO, Telenor Group.
Hofbauer will remain in his role until the end of the year or until a new CEO has been appointed.
