Pannon wins Good CSR award

Pannon, one of Hungary's leading mobile operators and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telenor, has been announced the best of 25 Hungarian companies in terms of CSR management by the Good CSR 2008 programme.

"CSR management and comparable CSR reports complying with international standards are an absolute must for stable and predictable business growth. Transparency, a key measure of responsible business governance, is an essential component of any company's operation", said Ove Fredheim, CEO of Pannon.

Reporting on financial, social and environmental performance
The global Good CSR 2008 programme was launched by Braun & Partners Network and its international partners this year. The initiative, established with the involvement of 25 companies including Pannon, aims to provide members with a forum to report on their financial, social and environmental performance to a broader audience and promote the best practice of responsible business governance.

Good CSR Award for CSR management
Good CSR awards were distributed in three categories at the gala dinner on November 5, 2008.

The three categories were:
1) Best CSR response to a changing environment - went to Generali Providencia Insurance company
2) Best Civil Society Partnership - went to MKB Bank
3) Best CSR management framework - went to Pannon.

The evaluation panel of Good CSR featured Kincso Adriány, Executive Director of the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum, Noémi Alexa, Executive Director of Transparency International Hungary Foundation, and Viktor Bálint, Production Director of Sanoma Budapest Zrt.
