Nextra "superhub" to host Oracle e-business platform and applications for medium to large sized companies across Europe

Nextra, a Telenor company, today launched a joint hosting initiative with Oracle, the world's largest provider of software for e-business. Effective immediately, Nextra will host the entire Oracle software platform - including the database, application server and E-Business Suite of software applications - from its highly secure "superhub" data centres in Norway, Germany, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
The joint offering consists of a set pre-packaged services aimed primarily at medium to large sized companies across Europe. Each package combines an affordable monthly fee with round-the-clock systems support by Nextra and Oracle professionals, the security of nuclear bomb-proof hosting facilities and optional business interruption insurance. Nextra is the first hosting and managed service provider in Europe to offer its customers insurance against business loss.

Through this partnership, customers will be able to access and use Oracle's leading software solutions online, including the robust Oracle9i development and deployment platform and Oracle's E-Business Suite, for an affordable monthly fee. Oracle's E-Business Suite includes integrated applications for human resources management, accounting, payroll, customer relationship management and supply chain management. The software will be installed on state-of-the-art hardware in each Nextra "superhub", with high-speed secure network connections to and from the customer. Nextra and Oracle will together provide 24x7 management and support for the full system stack.
