As part of a campaign offer in November and December, customers of Norwegian Telenor Mobil will be offered Internet surfing at a maximum rate of NOK 5 per day. The offer applies for both post-paid and pre-paid customers with private subscriptions.

"The range of fascinating new services for the mobile phone continues to grow. At the same time we see that a number of customers are hesitant to take up these new services. As part of our campaign offer in November and December, users can stay updated and be entertained via their mobiles at a rate of only NOK 5 per day. The offer also applies to customers watching TV on their mobiles," says Berit Kjøll, Director of the Consumer Market at Telenor in Norway.

"This spring Telenor introduced the Entry handsets. Entry gives customers easy access to news, sports and entertainment on the mobile," continues Berit Kjøll. "Later this year Telenor will launch eight new Entry handsets, and it is our hope that this will contribute to further increase the interest in using mobile phones for Internet surfing."

"Earlier this year, Telenor Mobil started to upgrade the speeds of the mobile network as the first step in Telenor Mobil's 3G launch in Norway based on the EDGE technology. Before Christmas, we will move on to the next step in this development, as the next generation mobile network, UMTS, is set to open. Telenor will then introduce new and more advanced 3G services. The 3G services will benefit from data speeds of up to 384 kb/second, compared to today's 48 kb/second. This will enable users to watch TV with even higher quality, and mobile phones can be used for video telephony. In addition, all data communications will be faster than today," says Berit Kjøll.

The campaign offer does not include services or products purchased via the mobile phone.
