Jørgen Lindegaard steps down as Chairman of the Board for SONOFON

Jørgen Lindegaard has stepped down as chairman of the Board of Directors for SONOFON Holding A/S, a position he has held since 1996.

"Jørgen Lindegaard has contributed greatly to the success of SONOFON, and Telenor is grateful for the time, effort and enthusiasm he has yielded during his term as Chairman of the Board," said Telenor Nordic Mobile's Managing Director, Jan Edvard Thygesen, who will take over the chairmanship.

SONOFON was consolidated into Telenor's results from February 12, 2004, after Telenor acquired 100 per cent ownership of the Danish mobile operator. SONOFON has now been integrated into Telenor Nordic Mobile, and the future board will consist of key persons from Telenor's administration.

Lindegaard, who is President and CEO of SAS, was elected to the Telenor Board of Directors on October 1, 2001.

Jørgen Lindegaard's background is in the telecommunications industry, and since 1975 he has held managerial positions in Fyns Telefon A/S, København Telefon A/S and TeleDanmark A/S. Lindegaard is a Graduate Engineer with telecommunications.

The new Board of Directors of SONOFON Holding A/S consists of Chairman, Jan Edvard Thygesen and board members Arve Johansen, Morten Karlsen Sørby and Per Simonsen.
