DiGi.com in Malysia not to bid for UMTS license

DiGi.com Berhad, through its wholly-owned subsidiary DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi), will not be submitting a bid for a block within the third generation (3G) spectrum assignment, at the close of the bid exercise today, Wednesday 29 May 2002.

DiGi intends, however, to invest strategically as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), in the delivery of a wide range of mobile multimedia products and services to the Malaysian marketplace.
