DiGi has received recognition from the Malaysian Government for its efforts to preserve the national cultural heritage. DiGi's corporate responsibility programme "Amazing Malaysians" was awarded the Anugerah Pendukung Seni (Sektor Korporat). This was the first time a corporation received the award.

Head of Corporate Affairs, Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias, received the award from the Malaysian Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage.

"Progress with a heart"

According to the Ministry, the DiGi's Amazing Malaysians programme underlines the company's "commitment to supporting the government in its efforts to preserve culture and tradition."
"An award such as this is a good indicator that we're achieving our aim of putting depth and substance into progress. What feels especially good is the fact it has come totally unsolicited. To me, this award is an endorsement of the DiGi brand as one that cares about progress with a heart," said CEO of DiGi, Morten Lundal.

Amazing Malaysians

Lundal attributes the success of DiGi's corporate social responsibility programme to the Amazing Malaysians, saying: "Without their effort and commitment, we would not have any projects to talk about."
He also thanked DiGi's volunteers for "throwing themselves into the programme with such enthusiasm"; and members of the management team, who "have led the various projects so whole-heartedly". Finally, he said, the project children and the local communities have also played a crucial part in making DiGi's Amazing Malaysians the great programme it is.
