Thomas Midteide is appointed SVP Group Communications in Telenor. He joins the telecom company from DNB, Norway's largest financial services group, where he is EVP Communications & Sustainability.

Telenor's new Head of Communications looks forward to contributing to the company's ambition of advancing the digital world while making it green, safe and for all.

"Telenor is a Norwegian business adventure that I have always been impressed with and proud of, and I am really looking forward to getting started. Telenor is already a part of my daily routines, whether I collaborate with colleagues via my PC or during my daily chats with my daughter in Bergen. Telenor is important to both societies and every one of us," says Midteide.

Midteide has been part of the Group management at DNB for over ten years and previously led the communication efforts in Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) in Norway. Rita Skjærvik, Executive Vice President for People, Sustainability and External Relations in Telenor Group, is thrilled Midteide agreed to become part of Telenor.

"Thomas is in the absolute top tier of communication leaders in Norway, and we are very pleased to have him on the team. Last year, Telenor launched our new strategy for long-term growth and quality services. Thomas' experience is very relevant when we now will show and explain to our customers and investors what value Telenor delivers", says Skjærvik.

In addition to being responsible for Telenor's communications efforts, Midteide will lead the company's event and conference department. He will start in September.

"I am looking forward to joining a very professional and skilled team at Telenor and will bring many experiences from my years at DNB, where I've had a fantastic time. Telenor has a valuable brand and is an important player in developing secure digital solutions, and its societal role provides the work with extra motivation and meaning", says Midteide.
