We are now seeking a Director Cloud Platform Architecture to join our Technology Strategy and Partnership Ecosystem team at Telenor Group.

In this role, you will own and drive the development of Telenor’s cloud platform architecture, ensuring it aligns with business needs, market trends, and financial considerations. You will work closely with our operating companies, partners, and internal stakeholders to define strategy, guide implementation, and foster innovation.

About the Team

You will be part of the Technology Strategy and Partnership Ecosystem team, a highly skilled and international group working across Telenor’s global footprint. The team is responsible for setting strategic technology directions, defining architectural principles, and driving execution in close collaboration with Telenor’s business units and external partners. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and value creation, the team plays a central role in shaping Telenor’s future technology landscape.

The role reports to the Vice President Network and Infrastructure Strategy, and will work closely with senior leaders and domain experts across the Group.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Define the cloud components of Telenor’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and architectural principles.

• Drive strategic processes including reviews, approvals, and pilot initiatives.

• Support key initiatives around Sovereign Cloud and AI Cloud deployments.

• Act as a senior domain expert within the field of expertise, engaging with a network of senior cloud experts across Telenor.

• Stay ahead of industry trends and translate them into actionable strategies for Telenor, for own consumption of cloud as well as enabling external cloud services.

• Collaborate across business units to ensure best practice sharing and alignment.

• Engage in planning and execution of sourcing and implementation projects.

• Represent Telenor in relevant external forums and partner engagements.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, planning, or operations.

• Proven leadership in managing and motivating senior technology professionals.

• Deep expertise in cloud-native technologies, data centre connectivity, Kubernetes, orchestration, and infrastructure platforms.

• Solid understanding of telecom technologies including fibre, IP networks, 4G/5G.

• Good understanding of cloud security, cloud regulations and various cloud operating models

• Experience leading transformative technology projects in complex environments.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.

• A strategic mindset with the ability to balance technology, business, and financial considerations.
