Background
Fridtjof Rusten (b. 1966) is CEO of Telenor Pakistan from September 1, 2025. He has more than two decades of international leadership experience from both operational roles and group functions across Telenor and beyond. Before his appointment as CEO, Rusten served as Chief Transformation Officer at True Corporation in Thailand, where he led the post-merger integration process. Earlier, he was CFO at four of Telenor’s major operations: Telenor Pakistan, dtac (Thailand), Grameenphone (Bangladesh), and Telenor Hungary, where he also held the position of CMO. In addition, he was SVP and Head of Investment Management for Russia and CIS, serving on the Board of Directors of Vimpelcom Ltd, as well as SVP and Head of Group Enterprise Risk Management.
Rusten joined Telenor in January 2000 after nine years in the oil and gas sector. He has also held the role of CFO in a private-equity-owned retail company for two years.
Education
He holds a degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), graduating in 1990.
