AS sells its "K3" site, situated south of the Telenor Centre, to the Norwegian company Aker. The parties signed the agreement Tuesday, and it implies that Aker's headquarters will be Telenor's closest neighbour at Fornebu just outside Oslo. The price is NOK 150 million.

"We very much welcome having Aker in our neighbourhood. The co-localisation of two locomotives like Telenor and Aker is very positive both to Fornebu as a business area and for the Municipality of Bærum. With this, Fornebu strengthens its role as a powerful engine in Norwegian business. I also want to acknowledge Municipality of Bærum for their will to solve problems in the process", said Roar Wiik Andreassen, managing director of Telenor Eiendom AS.

"The decision to make Fornebu the premises for our new head office is a signal of the strong interconnection between our competitive industry based on long tradition of technology and competence, and our suppliers of advanced information and communication tools. The Aker group brings a new dimension to the ICT environment at Fornebu", said Leif-Arne Langøy, CEO of Aker ASA.

The property that Aker acquires is 23,000 square metres, and is sold with an approved pre-project. The construction is planned to start immediately, and should be ready for occupation within 2007 according to the original plan.
