Tore Hilde has today announced his decision to step down from the position as Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Satellite Services AS (TSS). In understanding with the chairman of TSS, Bjarne Aamodt, Hilde will remain at Telenor until the end of January.

Tore Hilde has stated differences of opinion relating to TSS' operations as his reason for stepping down. However, no further details will be elaborated in this respect

"The board will accept Tore Hilde's resignation," Bjarne Aamodt said.

Tore Hilde has worked with satellite communications at Telenor and has held various positions since joining the company nearly 10 years ago. Hilde was appointed CEO of TSS in 2002.

"Through these 10 years Tore has done a great job developing and strengthening the business through restructuring, organic growth and acquisitions. Today TSS is one of the world leaders in global satellite communications," said Bjarne Aamodt. "We very much appreciate Tore's contribution to this achievement, and wish him all the best in his future career outside TSS."

The board has good hopes of identifying and appointing Tore Hilde's successor as CEO of TSS in the near future.
