About the position
We are currently looking for a CEO for DNA Towers to lead our Finnish operations as a part of the Telenor Towers Nordic family. The position is based in Helsinki, with the possibility to work partly remotely according to our flexible work concept. Telenor Towers and DNA are parts of Telenor Group, a leading telecommunications company across the Nordics.
Telenor Towers, currently organized as a part of Telenor Infrastructure Business Area, is a leading Nordic tower company with operations in Norway, Sweden and Finland, delivering secure and critical telecom infrastructure in the region. With a highly qualified team of around 140 employees, we are focused on continuous improvement and development of our businesses, green, sustainable, and innovative solutions as well as relevant products for our customers. Telenor Towers’ operation in Finland is done by DNA Towers.
YOUR KEY JOB DESCRIPTION
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DNA Towers is responsible for the day-to-day management of operations and shall remain informed of and follow up on current business developments, positions, and financial performance of the company. The CEO reports to the CEO of Telenor Towers.
Key responsibilities and roles of the CEO for DNA Towers include:
Strategic Leadership: Strategy implementation including developing and executing local strategic plans based on Telenor Towers’ overall strategy, focusing on growth, operational efficiency, and transforming from a telco-owned asset to an independent tower provider.
Operational Management: Manage and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure that services are delivered, issues are handled, and performance stays on track.
Organization, Culture & Competencies: Develop the organization, competencies and culture needed to deliver on the defined strategy.
Sustainability & Green Energy: Drive initiatives to increase network resilience and implement green energy solutions, such as distributed energy storage (DES) in base stations.
Business Development: Identify opportunities for new revenue streams, such as participating in electricity reserve markets to optimize power procurement.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the key representative for the tower entity within the broader Telenor Tower management structure. Be the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and operations.
Governance, Risk & Compliance: Ensure that business is conducted in conformity with external and internal requirements, Telenor Code of Conduct, Governing Principles, and Group Policies.
PREFERRED COMPETENCE IN THIS ROLE:
Required Skills and Qualifications
Leadership: Proven experience in executive leadership and change management.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to make data-driven, high-level decisions.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and public-speaking skills.
Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and capital allocation.
Language skills : Fluent in English
While a solid track record is valued, we believe that potential and the ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment are even more important than a long history in a similar role. This role could also be an excellent opportunity for a high-potential leader (e.g., a Regional Director or Business Unit Lead) ready to elevate their career to the next level.
This role requires readiness to travel within the Nordics as well as an approved statement of security clearance.
