How can I buy or sell Telenor shares?

You can buy or sell Telenor shares through your banking connection, financial adviser, stockbroker or online broker. The commission charges for buying and selling shares vary between the different organisations.

How can I find the value of my Telenor shares?

You can find the value of your share by multiplying current share price with the number of shares you hold. Go to the share page.

How do I find out how many Telenor shares I hold?

How can I change my bank details related to dividend payments?

How do I deal with a death of a shareholder?

I do not know my VPS number, how do I get it?

What is a registrar and who is Telenor’s registrar?

The registrar manages Telenor’s share register on behalf of Telenor. The registrar is responsible for ensuring dividend payments, provide information about shareholding in Telenor and route you to your personal accountant/bank. Telenor ASA has appointed Nordea Bank as its registrar:

Dividend information 

When is the announcement of the Telenor dividend amount?

The proposed dividend is announced in connection with the Annual results reporting. The dividend amount is subject to approval on the Annual General Meeting.

When will the dividends be paid this year?

Telenor pays semi-annual dividends. The dividend is usually paid 1 – 2 weeks after the Annual General Meeting in May and the second installment in November. An overview of proposed dividend, ex.dividend and record dates is available on our dividend page.

How are dividends paid and taxed?

Dividend on the Norwegian stock exchange shares is paid in NOK and is subject to Norwegian tax law. If you hold shares on the day of the Annual General Meeting you will receive dividend. If you sell your shares before the Annual General meeting you are not titled to receive dividend. You can go to our dividend page for more information about the tax treatment of the dividend.

Can I reinvest my dividend to buy more shares in Telenor?

Telenor ASA do not have a reinvestment program. To buy Telenor shares contact your banking connection, financial adviser, stockbroker or online broker.

What is Telenor’s dividend policy?

Telenor aims for a year-on-year growth in ordinary dividends per share. Telenor pays semi-annual dividends. In addition, buy-back of own shares and/or extraordinary dividend pay-outs will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Annual general meeting 

Who can attend the Annual General Meeting?

To attend the Annual General Meeting you must be a Telenor shareholder.

How can I register for the Annual General Meeting?

You can register for the Annual General Meeting in two ways:

Two weeks before the Annual General Meeting you will receive a registration form to your registered postal address to be filled out and returned to Nordea Bank.

You can register electronically on the AGM page. All details of the registration procedure will be published two weeks before the next meeting.

How do I exercise my voting rights in case I am not present at the AGM?

As a shareholder in Telenor you may appoint a representative by proxy to exercise the shareholder’s voting rights at the AGM. This may be done in two ways:
