– No basis for further financing of Itworks
“Despite thorough assessments, Telenor has concluded that there no longer exists basis for further financing of the company Itworks. None of the solutions discussed have been found to be economically feasible,” says vice president and member of the corporate management of Telenor ASA, Mr. Bjørn Formo, in connection with the decision to wind-up the company. The Telenor Group has loans and other claims in Itworks of more than 110 million NOK. This is considered lost as a result of the wind-up petition.

100 million subscriptions
Nine times the height of Mount Everest – that is how high a stack of 100 million sim-cards reaches, although each sim-card is only 0,8 mm thick. On Monday evening, the customer who bought Telenor’s subscription number 100 million was celebrated in Budapest, Hungary.
150 million subscriptions
The total number of subscriptions in Telenor’s mobile operations has now passed 150 million. This was announced at Telenor’s Capital Markets Day on Thursday.
1881: New number for Telenor’s directory services from February 15, 2002
Telenor’s directory services, Opplysningen 180, will be given a new number from February 15, 2002. The new number will be 1881. The present number, 180, will be closed down as of May 1, next year.
1998 Preliminary results for the Telenor Group
Preliminary results for 1998, show operating income of NOK 28,380 million for the Telenor Group. This is approximately 11 per cent more than the previous year. Operating profits increased with NOK 1,081 million to NOK 3,847 million. Profit before taxes increased with NOK 592 million to a total of NOK 2,057 million. Senior Vice President Torstein Moland has commented that ” Telenor is satisfied with the net result for 1998. This result reflects a very strong increase in fixed network, mobile telephony as well as satellite communications. Our net result has also been affected by NOK 800 million in price reductions made by Telenor in 1998. “
200,000 have BankID on their mobile
More than 200,000 mobile users now have BankID on their mobile phones. They are therefore no longer dependent on the pin pad when it comes to paying bills or shopping online.
2002 Sees Virus Slowdown
Less then 1,2 per cent of all e-mails sent in Norway in 2002 was infected by virus, which is down almost two per cent from the previous year. 2003 will see the focus shift from virus to unwanted mail (“spam”), according to Telenor.
2014 delivered good results, solid growth ahead
In the fourth quarter of 2014, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 29.1 billion and an organic revenue growth of 5.3%. EBITDA before other items was NOK 9.1 billion, the EBITDA margin was 31.2% and operating cash flow was NOK 3.46 billion. Full-year reported revenues were NOK 106.5 billion, EBITDA before other items NOK 37.7 billion and the EBITDA margin 35.4% in 2014.
