“With SOBAZAAR we are taking mobile shopping to the next level,” adds Dyhre Kvisvik, who heads Telenor Digital’s new venture into fashion. SOBAZAAR kicked off in style last Thursday in London, with a launch party inviting celebrities, fashion press, bloggers, musicians both from Norway and UK. Through a partnership with the low-cost airline Norwegian, the Nordic guests were transported from Oslo to London, where a day filled with presentations from designers, visits to fashion brands, a tour of the app, all signed off with a launch event at the stylish Ham Yard Hotel.
“I have an incredibly dedicated team, who has worked day and night the last months to make this happen. We have also received great support both from within Telenor and from some of our partners, to make this launch event possible,” says Dyhre Kvisvik and continues, “”It’s truly fantastic to see that a big company and Telco is willing to invest in something completely new and perhaps a bit seemingly on the side of our core business. But the fact is, we have to be where the customer is. We have seen that fashion is the largest growing vertical, and also the most engaging vertical. SOBAZAAR proves that the sky is the limit in developing new services to the delight of our customers.”
And the journey has just begun for Jeanette and her team. “We hope to have 20,000 users before Christmas,” says co-founder and team lead Jarle Snertingdalen, “at the same time as we build up more competence around the service, its users, and how to continue to develop this social shopping app to be a success and inspiration for our users the future”.
