Telenor is mandated to conduct all such discussions and negotiations on behalf of all 13 Business Units, and offers co-ordinated approach to testing, service openings, reconciliation and settlement.

The international wholesale market has developed at a very fast pace during the last years. Mobile data has become a much bigger part of the customer offering, and strong regulation in EU has definitely spilled over to also directly affect retail and wholesale prices outside of the EU territory.

Telenor has been one of the first Telcos in Europe to offer Roam Like Home retail packages, resulting in positive effects on traffic. This development is being evaluated and investigated for possible replication into the other markets where Telenor operates MNO’s. As a direct result of this, Telenor is looking to reduce the rates of OB traffic in order to facilitate such a development for Telenor retail departments. This is of course exchanged with expectations of strong traffic growth, and an offer of low wholesale rates for our partners into the Telenor footprint.

The Global Wholesale Roaming team is located in Oslo, Podgorica, Dubai, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, and is ambitious to explore how to develop and explore a world where the main focus is to be able to offer our customers unlimited access at affordable rates.
