ONE PLACE FITS ALL

As one of Europe's leading business centres, Frankfurt is at the crossroads of Europe's rapidly expanding IT industry. That's why Nextra, Telenor's pan-European communications service provider (CSP) to the business community, is scheduled to open the Nextra Frankfurt Hosting Centre soon.

"The Nextra Frankfurt Hosting Centre will provide professional and comprehensive hosting services to small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) while facilitating the operation of some of Nextra's key internal operations," says Erik Jensen, Nextra's hosting manager.

Jensen explains that the centre will be a major Point of Presence (POP) in Nextra's international IP network, Nextbone, ensuring reliable access to high bandwidth capacity connections. "Internet hosting has become increasingly popular, and many SMEs are looking into professional and simple set-ups for their Internet services," he says.

FEELING SECURE
For customers concerned with security issues, the Nextra Frankfurt Hosting Centre is the ideal solution. "In today's digital economy, information is more precious than gold. That's why the centre has been designed and equipped with the latest safety tools to ensure the security of our customers' vital data," Jensen says.

While providing high security, the Nextra Frankfurt Hosting Centre will allow Nextra to develop and implement Internet communications services from a single location. "The Nextra Frankfurt Hosting Centre will allow us to streamline the production and distribution of hosting solutions," Jensen says. "Physical distances are not a factor on the Internet."

24/7
The hosting centre is the most recent addition to Nextra's network of data centres. The centre will offer many advanced hosting services, including co-location (tele-housing), dedicated hosting (customer applications on dedicated servers) and shared hosting (multiple enterprise applications on server clusters). In the near future, Nextra will expand these services and in co-operation with other Nextra hosting centres, spread throughout Europe. The centre will provide service operations and delivery 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Per Björck, CTO of Nextra, believes the hosting centre represents a key development for Nextra in Europe. "As the e-business strategies of European SMEs evolve, they will look to hosting providers for improved scalability, service, security and flexibility. Our hosting solutions make it possible for these companies to easily create a presence on the Internet. Nextra's secure system will leverage the service benefits and cost savings. The opening of our new Frankfurt hosting centre is a significant piece in our European web hosting jigsaw."
