About Telektronikk

History
Telektronikk started as technical notes, Tekniske Meddelelser fra Telegrafstyrelsen (Technical Information from the Telegraph Administration) in April 1904. Over the years it has changed faces several times, until it appears as today's journal. An excellent review of the journal history was written by Henrik Jørgensen to the 90th Anniversary and appears in Volume 91(4), No 4.1995. Telektronikk celebrated its 100th anniversary with a seminar in November 2004 with many interesting presentations. (In Norwegian)

Journal Profile
Telektronikk positions itself between quickly out-dated textbooks on new professional skills, and scientific papers and articles published in a range of journals where the exposition can be more demanding. It has an educational profile that also makes it suitable for use as course material at Universities and Engineering schools.
The target audience consists of telecom professionals in industry and academia, both in Norway and internationally.

Structure
Each issue of Telektronikk consists of up to four different sections: Feature, Special, Status and Kaleidoscope. The Feature section is the backbone of each issue and consequently the largest. It is edited by a Feature Editor who is appointed from issue to issue by the Editor in Chief. The selected theme shall be treated in an objective manner from an educational point of view, with introductory articles followed by in-depth articles on selected topics within the theme. The Special section appears when appropriate and contains (typically) one or two papers on special topics. This can be both overview papers and in-depth analysis of current problems in telecommunications. The Status section appears on a regular basis and contains papers and reports from standardization work and international research. It has its own section editor who is member of the permanent staff. The Kaleidoscope section appears when appropriate and contains papers with historical angles.
