Telenor currently holds a 61% ownership interest in DiGi, the third largest mobile operator in Malaysia.

Digi had an estimated market share of 27% at year-end 2006.

Network and services

DiGi currently holds a license for operation of a GSM 1800 network and offers mobile voice, roaming and value-added services on both prepaid and contract basis.

DiGi is currently one of the leading operators in the prepaid segment, the largest consumer segment in the Malaysian mobile market. With various value-added services, such as MMS, enriched SMS, mobile content and Internet services, as well as innovative loyalty schemes, DiGi continues to be at the forefront of product innovation in the Malaysian market. In 2006, DiGi continued its commitment to retain the innovative position in the Malaysian market, launching a number of other new products and services to the market.

Retail and Digi service centres

To reach out to both current and prospective customers, DiGi has established more than 20 DiGi service centers and cooperates with a large number of dealers throughout Malaysia including more than 70 DiGi specialized stores and 75 DiGi platinum dealers which only handle DiGi products and services.

Through the strengthening of the distribution network in 2006, DiGi now holds one of the largest mobile distribution networks in Malaysia. DiGi also offers efficient and innovative ways for customers to communicate with its customer service functions via the telephone or Internet.
