Telenor operates mobile networks in 12 countries in Europe and in Asia. These networks are heavily reliant on secure energy supplies to maintain service quality to our customers.

The Advisor will be employed within the Telenor Climate Change Program, which is a group-wide initiative to ensure a sustainable climate strategy for the Telenor Group.

The Advisor will be an important contributor to the Group's strategy directed at both improving energy supply security and contributing to improved economic and environmental conditions in the countries where Telenor operates. The responsibilities will include identifying, initiating and implementing energy related projects that contribute to these objectives.

Primary assignment and responsibilities

  • Responsible for International project management - renewable energy initiatives
  • Take the lead and coordinating renewable energy initiatives worldwide for Telenor
  • Evaluating and advise Telenor companies on energy scenarios in different regions worldwide
  • Securing renewable energy support in infrastructure rollout projects
  • Identify and cooperate with international partners (energy companies), negotiations, project analysis and planning
  • The position will include travelling and cooperation with Telenor's operating companies internationally

Required academic qualifications

  • Preferably have a master's degree within engineering, economics, business and/or finance

Desired qualifications/experience

  • We are looking for a senior person with at least 5-10 years experience from the energy sector, who can document key skills in areas such as international energy markets and regulatory systems, negotiations, project analysis and planning, and renewable energy technologies
  • The Advisor must have management experience from either line organisations and/or major projects, and possess business insight on strategic as well as operational level
