Dag Belsnesis Mater of Science in Mathematics, University of Oslo (1967). He is currently working at the Norwegian Computing Centre, a research institute in computer science. Belsnes is also a part-time professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. His research includes communications protocols and services, program environment for distributed systems and object oriented programming.

Øistein Haugen has a Cand. real degree in computer science from Universitetet i Oslo (1980). In 1979-80 he worked as a research assistant at UiO, and from 1981 to 1984 as a research scientist at Norsk Regnesentral where he was the project manager for Simula. Between 1984 - 88 he worked as a project manager at SimTech within the area of graphical information processing, and then as a senior researcher at ABB Corporate Research Norway (ABB Teknologi). Since 1990, Haugen has worked as a consultant within development, training and research. He currently works for Ericsson AS with metods and languages for software development.

Birger Møller-Pedersen has a Cand.scient. from the University of Copenhagen & University of Århus in Denmark 1976. Joined Norwegian Computing Center 1977 and worked with a.o. implementation of Simula and design of a new object oriented language, BETA, based on the ideas of Simula, but both simplified and extended to cover concurrency and real "active objects". This activity grounded the so-called "Scandinavian school in object orientation". |
