The Telenor Research and Innovation Award
Telenor awards an annual research and innovation prize
in the telecommunications field in order to emphasize the great significance
research and innovation have in the formation of our future society and to encourage
efforts in the field. The award is worth NOK 250,000.
The award may be given for work within a broad range of professional fields,
which may encompass areas like technology, networks and service development,
economy and markets, and user behavior, as well as new areas that may be different
from those traditionally associated with telecommunication and information technology.
For each year, Telenor chooses a more narrow scope for the prize. The subject
for 2008 is: "The impact of internet and communications technology on the
home and consumer environment". See statutes and procedure for submitting
proposals.
