Objectives
The ultimate goal of the IDM Forum is to create a meeting place for experts from academia, industrial and governmental sectors and to foster collaborations that pave the way for advances in Identity Management.

The
number of electronic identities, i.e . user names and passwordsthat
each person has, is increasing everyday and the situation will soon
be unmanageable. The lack of a satisfactory Identity Management system
is the main barrier in the development of e-commerce, m-commerce and
e-government applications. The need for an open interoperable IDM solution
is getting more and more urgent. For many identity-based services strong
authentication is required and the usage of smart cards or especially
SIM cards in mobile phones can be the solutions.
