Identity Management Forum

Objectives

The number of electronic identities, i.e . user names and passwordsthat each person has, is increasing everyday and the situation will soon be unmanageable. The lack of a satisfactory Identity Management system is the main barrier in the development of e-commerce, m-commerce and e-government applications. The need for an open interoperable IDM solution is getting more and more urgent. For many identity-based services strong authentication is required and the usage of smart cards or especially SIM cards in mobile phones can be the solutions.

The ultimate goal of the IDM Forum is to create a meeting place for experts from academia, industrial and governmental sectors and to foster collaborations that pave the way for advances in Identity Management.
