World’s first crime novel on mobile
(13 March, 2008) For the first time in the global mobile history, a book exclusively produced for publishing on a mobile phone is launched.

The Norwegian author Andreas Markusson’s new crime novel “Første gang jeg døde” (The first time I died), is the first novel in the world to be launched on mobile phones. The book will be available on Telenor's Norwegian audio book service, before it is printed or available in any other form.

Telenor’s Norwegian audio book service
The audio books for mobile phones are called ‘litcast’ and can be downloaded by sending a sms. The stories are especially written for mobile phones and are between 10 and 20 minutes long.
Crime on demand
Telenor is now setting up a new crime page on its mobile portal for the Norwegian market. A selection of crime novels suited to the traditional Norwegian love of “whodunits” around Easter will be promoted here.
Broad range of books
Telenor also has audio books in other categories for adults and children. There are approximately 300 titles, with the range in the mobile book shop set to grow.
