Interview with Philip Ling

Philip Ling

  • Position: Senior, Corporate Responsibility
  • Company: DiGi
  • Location: dHouse, Shah Alam, Malaysia

What is your background?

I joined DiGi in 2000 and have experience in international marketing, regulatory and corporate responsibility. Though it has been more than a decade’s journey, every day provides new experiences and challenges. Currently, I’m responsible for DiGi’s corporate responsibility initiatives related to climate change and enable initiatives. This includes planning, executing and reporting on DiGi’s Deep Green and CyberSAFE programmes.

What do you like best about DiGi?

Our aim is to strive to be the forefront in leading Malaysian Corporations towards realizing Global Best Practices. We have always seen ourselves as a game changer, and that has been instrumental in everything we do. As a part of DiGi and of Telenor Group, it is exciting to see the endless opportunities to collaborate on new projects and share best practices across the Telenor Group.

What do you find most fulfilling and enjoyable at work?

It has been inspiring to work on engaging activities under our corporate responsibility umbrella. It is encouraging when we see the end results of these projects. For example, the Deep Green initiatives have directly contributed to the reduction of our carbon footprint. To date, we have achieved a 33% CO2 reduction through various energy efficiency initiatives across our network, buildings and transportation.  We look at these achievements with great pride!
