What is your background?
I started out as a trainee in Telenor. Actually, I was skeptical to trainee programs, but as soon as I met the management team in the department I was set to work in Telenor, I knew that this was right for me.
The time as a trainee is still one of my best experiences and I got to learn a lot about how Telenor works in many areas. Today, I work as a Business Manager for fixed broadband, meaning that I am overall responsible for all campaigns, offers and profitability of these products. I have had this position for about two years.
Which part of your job do you enjoy most?
My favorite part is when a competitor makes a countermove on one of our campaigns. I love the feeling at the office when we all stand up as a team, work together really intense to answer on the competitor’s move. Most often we manage to do this in a matter of days. It is a very fast moving and highly competitive market which keeps us on our toes and never makes it boring.
How would you describe the work environment at Telenor?
I think it is really great. In fact it is one of the best parts of the job. My colleagues are so talented and ambitious. At the same time, we all have a lot of fun at work and even hang out in our spare time.
In what ways does Telenor allow you to develop your skills?
Telenor encourages me to test my skills and try out my capabilities and I grow a lot from that. I get a lot of trust and respect from the management and freedom to try out my ideas. That is what keeps me aiming for higher goals. The flexibility here is great and I am still amazed about the many opportunities I have in this company.
What is the best part of working for an international company?
I would say the feeling that you belong to something greater than just one company in Sweden! Telenor helps people communicate all over the world and I am quite amazed about all the responsible initiatives that are brought into action in all these countries. dtac is for example offering an sms service to rice farmers in Thailand, providing daily information on which market they can get the best price for their rice. All these different local initiatives are something that I was not aware of when I started, but something that I am really proud of being part of today.
