Telenor Does Not Support Proposed VimpelCom Acquisition of Weather Investments

As formally communicated to VimpelCom Ltd.'s Chairman yesterday, based on the information available to it and recent developments, Telenor ASA has determined that the proposed acquisition by VimpelCom Ltd. of Weather Investments S.p.A. is not in the best interests of VimpelCom shareholders and therefore does not intend to support the transaction.

Third quarter 2010: strengthened growth, margins and outlook

In the third quarter of 2010, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 24.1 billion, representing an organic revenue growth of six per cent. EBITDA before other items was NOK 7.9 billion, EBITDA margin was 33 per cent, and operating cash flow margin was 23 per cent. Telenor's consolidated mobile operations added seven million subscriptions during the quarter.

Decline in digital bullying among children and young people

A new survey shows that the amount of digital bullying among children and young people has fallen in the past two years. Yet despite the trend following the right course, two out of three still say that they or someone they know have received messages they perceive as bullying. Telenor, the Red Cross, Barnevakten, and the Norwegian Media Authority are now intensifying the fight against digital bullying. In the autumn 50 new junior high schools will be visited by the "Bruk Hue" (use your head) campaign.

The Telenor Group and Opera Software announced a non-exclusive Global Framework Agreement aiming to stimulate rapid growth of mobile Internet services across Telenor's business units. Mobile data and Asia driving growth

In the second quarter of 2010, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 25.2 billion, representing an organic revenue growth of 5 per cent. The EBITDA margin in the second quarter of 2010 was 28 per cent, and operating cash flow margin was 16 per cent. Adjusted operating profit was NOK 2.9 billion. Telenor's mobile operations added 5.4 million subscriptions during the quarter.

Management change in Uninor

The board of Uninor has accepted the resignation of Stein-Erik Vellan as managing Director. Sigve Brekke, Head of Telenor Asia Region, has been nominated as the Managing director of Uninor pending all regulatory and statutory approvals in India, and will also continue to be the head of Asia for Telenor.

TV4 Group and Telenor strengthen Canal+ through Nordic co-ownership

The TV4 Group and Telenor Group today announced that they have entered a co-ownership agreement for C More Entertainment, which runs its premium TV operations under the Canal+ brand. Telenor will acquire 35 per cent of C More Entertainment through a share purchase and a directed new share issue of the company's shares. Telenor has paid a cash consideration of SEK 787 million. In addition, certain sports rights owned by Telenor, such as SAS Ligaen and FIFA World Cup 2010 in Denmark, have been sublicensed to C More Entertainment. The Nordic co-ownership provides Canal+ with long term access to important content for its TV subscribers. Canal+ customers will be offered an increased selection of top quality sports, films and series.

In the first quarter of 2010, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 24 billion, representing an organic revenue growth of 3 per cent. The EBITDA margin in the first quarter of 2010 was 30 per cent, and operating cash flow margin was 20 per cent. Telenor's mobile operations added 5 million subscriptions during the quarter, reaching a total of 179 million.

Farimex Products, Inc. today withdrew its claim against Telenor East Invest AS, and the Federal Arbitrazh (Business) Court of the West Siberian District, in Tyumen, cancelled the ruling of the Eighth Arbitrazh Appellate Court in Omsk holding Telenor East Invest AS liable for US$1.73 billion in damages and terminated all proceedings.

Fourth quarter and preliminary results for 2009: All-time high cash flow of NOK 20 billion

For the full year of 2009, Telenor's reported revenues increased by 2 per cent compared to 2008, reaching NOK 97.7 billion. The operating profit was NOK 13.3 billion. Telenor's mobile operations added 2 million subscriptions during the quarter, reaching a total of 174 million.

Uninor debuts with 1.2 million subscribers in first month

Uninor today announced its first month-end subscriber numbers since the launch in December 2009. By the end of the month, Uninor had secured 1.2 million subscribers in the eight telecom circles where its GSM services are available.
