Telenor renews its cooperation with the Norwegian National Theatre

Telenor has signed a cooperation agreement worth NOK 8.5 million with the Norwegian National Theatre. The agreement runs until 2011.
International initiatives, transfer of skills and investment in theatre for children and young people are the main points in the agreement which was signed today by Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO at Telenor, and Hanne Tømta, Theatre Manager at the National Theatre. Telenor gains the status of main partner through this agreement.
International relations
Communication between people and international initiatives are key points of the renewed engagement of the two organisations.
“We at Telenor have gained enormous rewards from our work with the National Theatre and are pleased the agreement has been renewed. Being able to use the National Theatre’s productions, actors and premises in many different situations has been useful and fun for our organisation and employees. As both the National Theatre and Telenor have activities outside Norway, we can share our experiences and by cooperating, we make our presence outside Norway even stronger,” says Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO at Telenor.
“Telenor’s contribution will support our investment in international relations in terms of developing our festival programmes and developing ourselves as a touring theatre,” says Hanne Tømta, Artistic Director at the National Theatre.
Long-term cooperation
Telenor has worked with the National Theatre since 2005. The new agreement involves developing areas which have already borne fruit, such as transfer of skills between the companies, organisational development and management training. The agreement also gives Telenor the opportunity to arrange its annual ‘Borderless Communication’ Culture Award on the main stage at the National Theatre. As main partner, Telenor also obtains a number of benefits that worked well during the previous contractual period.
