Khanty-Mansiysk ruling Against Telenor cancelled by Omsk Court
The Eighth Arbitrazh Appellate Court in Omsk in Siberia has today cancelled the USD 2.8 billion judgment issued against Telenor last August in Khanty-Mansiysk. The Omsk court said it will reconsider the case from the beginning on 19 February at 10 am.

Status for Telenor’s work on health, safety, security and environment (HSSE)
In May 2008, Telenor launched an extensive project to assess the health, safety, security and environmental conditions (HSSE) in our companies and suppliers. Several hundred inspections have been conducted and powerful measures have been implemented. The HSSE work will continue in 2009 and Telenor has simultaneously initiated a large meeting on corporate responsibility with major Norwegian international corporations.

Telenor to provide telecommunication services to all regional health authorities in Norway
The four regional health authorities in Norway and Telenor have entered into agreements for the provision of fixed and mobile telephone services. In total, the agreements are worth approximately NOK 120 million annually. Procurement Services for Health Enterprises (PSHE) has carried out the procurement on behalf of the four regions.

Telenor signs Nordic agreement with Carlsberg
Telenor is set to supply all mobile and fixed telephony to Carlsberg in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Telenor and Carlsberg have today signed a four-year agreement, which will strengthen Telenor's position in the Nordic market.

The award for "Best Mobile Money Service" was presented at the GSMA's Mobile Asia Congress gala opening in Macau on Tuesday 18 November. GSMA is the global trade association for mobile operators.

Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce established
On Wednesday 20 November the formal establishment of the first ever Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce took place at Telenor's headquarters in Norway. The Chamber will have as its main ambition to promote increased trade and business relations between Ukraine and Norway.

(Fornebu, Norway; Kyiv, Ukraine; and New York, New York - 20 November 2008) The US Federal Court for the Southern District of New York on 19 November granted Telenor's motion requesting that Alfa Group companies Altimo, Alpren, Hardlake and Storm be held in contempt of court for their failure to obey a November 2, 2007 court order upholding Telenor's arbitration award against Alfa Group subsidiary Storm. The Court held all four companies in contempt, imposed escalating fines, and ordered Storm to sell its shares in Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar within 90 days, unless within that period, Alfa has divested its shareholdings in excess of 5 per cent of Turkcell and Ukrainian High Technologies.

Telenor strongly rejects Russian arrest in VimpelCom shares
Telenor on Monday learned, through a press release said to be issued by Farimex Products, of a decision in a Siberian appeals court in Omsk purporting to arrest Telenor and Altimo's shares in VimpelCom. "If this is true, it is an outrageous decision, which we intend to overturn using all available means," said Jan Edvard Thygesen, EVP and head of Telenor's operations in Central and Eastern Europe.

Telenor seeks continued cooperation
In April 2008, unacceptable working conditions and incidents of child labour were discovered at suppliers to Grameenphone in Bangladesh. Telenor is working in a focused and intensive manner to resolve the situation and ensure that Telenor's policies are adhered to at both Telenor's subsidiaries and their suppliers. The extent of child labour and the insufficient focus on Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) in Bangladesh necessitates a comprehensive approach. Telenor to appeal Siberian verdict in collusive lawsuit instigated by Alfa
A court in the Siberian city of Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia shortly after 2 am Saturday morning local time issued a verdict holding Telenor liable for USD 2,824,125,677 in damages plus RUR 460,000 in costs for allegedly having delayed VimpelCom's acquisition of Ukrainian Radio Systems, a small Ukrainian mobile operator. Telenor strongly believes the claimant Farimex is affiliated with the Alfa Group and that the case has no merit. Telenor is confident it will prevail in reversing the decision on appeal.

Second quarter 2008: Stable financial performance
In the second quarter of 2008, Telenor's pro forma revenues (including Kyivstar) increased by three per cent compared to the second quarter of 2007, reaching NOK 27.2 billion. Underlying revenues increased by seven per cent in the same period. Pro forma EBITDA before other income and expenses was NOK 9.3 billion. Telenor's mobile operations added six million subscriptions during the second quarter.

Telenor Says Lawsuit in Khanty-Mansiysk in Siberia Has No Merit
On April 14, 2008, Telenor Russia received an undated claim in a lawsuit filed in the Khanty-Mansiysk business court in Siberia by Farimex Products, Inc., a British Virgin Islands company whose beneficial ownership was not disclosed in the court filings. The lawsuit's claims against Telenor are that Telenor harmed VimpelCom by preventing VimpelCom from purchasing Kyivstar and delaying VimpelCom's purchase of Ukrainian Radio Systems. Alfa Group subsidiary Eco Telecom made a similar claim against Telenor in a recently filed Geneva arbitration proceeding.

Telenor Says New Arbitration Brought By Alfa Has No Merit
On March 21, 2008, Alf Group subsidiary Eco Telecom commenced an arbitration proceeding against Telenor East Invest AS, claiming that Telenor violated the VimpelCom Shareholders Agreement by delaying VimpelCom's purchase of Closed Joint Stock Company "Ukrainian Radio Systems" (URS) by approximately one year, and that VimpelCom and Eco Telecom suffered harm as a result. Eco Telecom is claiming damages of US$1 billion. Telenor sees this proceeding has having no merit, and will oppose it.

Telenor ASA confirms that it has tendered all its shares in Golden Telecom, Inc. (Nasdaq:GLDN), pursuant to Lillian Acquisition, Inc.'s tender offer for 100 percent of Golden Telecom. Lillian Acquisition is a wholly owned subsidiary of VimpelCom, a leading Russian mobile operator.

Mobile networks on cruiseships
Maritime Communications Partner AS , fully owned by Telenor ASA, has signed a contract to install and operate the cellular network onboard all ships in Princess Cruises, Cunard Lines and P&O Cruises Australia's fleet. The agreement covers 21 ships at the signing of the contract.
