Telenor Strengthens Corporate Management

Press Releases:

Telenor is expanding its corporate management and making it more operational. "We have great challenges ahead of us in both the domestic and international markets. We have to be more offensive to ensure our customers access to world-class telephony and information services at reasonable prices, as well as create new growth and value for our owner," says CEO Tormod Hermansen.

Telenors new corporate management will become more operative by adding the different Business Area Managers to the group, which will consist of 12 members from 15th February:

CEO: Tormod Hermansen

CFO (Chief Financial Officer): Torstein Moland

CTO (Chief Technical Officer): Ole Petter Håkonsen

Senior Executive Vice President and Manager for International Centre: Terje Thon

Senior Executive Vice President and Manager for Telenor Norway: Jon Fredrik Baksaas

Senior Executive Vice President and Manager for Telenor Mobile Communication: Arve Johansen

Executive Vice President: Gun Bente Johansen

Executive Vice President and Manager for Telenor Nett: Jan Edvard Thygesen

Executive Vice President and Manager for Nextra: Morten Lundal

Executive Vice President and Manager for TV-Distribution and Satellite: Stig Eide Sivertsen

Executive Vice President and Manager for Service and Installation: Jan Kåre Pedersen

Executive Vice President and Manager for Directories: Peter Darpö

“We need a more united hold on our domestic market and the customers we have there. This is why we are formalising the business area Telenor Norway. We will also continue our strong and offensive international activities by creating an International Centre. With our sights on privatisation in the near future, we have to lay the foundation for future value growth and paint a clearer picture of Telenors profile for the capital market. The final company strategy will be considered by Telenors Board at a later stage,” says CEO Tormod Hermansen.

The International Centre will play a key role in preparing and driving the Companys internationalisation process. The Centre will contain four market areas initially: Western Europe, Central Europe, Russia/CIS and South-East Asia. These four Market Areas will have resident Country Managers taking care of building relationships with the local authorities and partners, as well as ensuring co-ordination between the Business Areas represented in each country.
