Telenor Group pays record high dividend to shareholders

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Telenor ASA, held at the company’s head office outside Oslo, has approved a dividend of NOK 6.00 per share. This is the highest dividend to be paid out to shareholders since the company was stock listed in December 2000.

Uninor today announced that it has appointed Mr. Yogesh Malik as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the operating company with immediate effect. Sigve Brekke will continue to be responsible for all of Telenor affairs in India as the Head of Telenor Group’s Asian Operations.

Telenor acquires the second largest mobile operator in Bulgaria

Telenor has today signed an agreement with OTE to acquire Bulgarian mobile operator Globul for a total amount of EUR 717 million on a cash and debt free basis.

First quarter 2013: Improved margins with stable revenues

In the first quarter of 2013, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 24.7 billion. EBITDA before other items was NOK 8.42 billion, EBITDA margin was 34 %, and operating cash flow was NOK 5.6 billion.

Canal Digital and TV 2 have signed new comprehensive distribution agreements. TV 2's channels will therefore be available during the years to come to almost one million households who are cable and satellite customers of Canal Digital. Telenor and Tameer Bank first to introduce mobile savings in Pakistan

Today people in Pakistan can transfer money easily from one city to another via Easypaisa. Now, Telenor and Tameer Bank have also introduced the opportunity to earn interest on savings by using the mobile phone. This represents a major step forward for the rural population of Pakistan which previously used cash and relied on more traditional ways of saving.

With the launch of the digital tool "Senior Citizens' Guide to Social Media" in Norway, Telenor wants to encourage the elderly to become more active online. In a large survey of the online habits of the elderly, almost 70% said that they currently don't use social media.

Fourth quarter 2012: Strong close to an eventful year

In the fourth quarter of 2012, Telenor Group reported revenues of NOK 26.0 billion, representing an organic revenue growth of 5%. EBITDA before other items was NOK 8.2 billion, EBITDA margin was 31.5 %, and operating cash flow was NOK 4.6 billion. For the full year of 2012, Telenor’s revenues were NOK 101.7 billion, EBITDA before other items was NOK 32.8 billion, EBITDA margin was 32.2% and operating cash flow was 20.5 billion.

Telenor Norway expands cooperation with WiMP

Telenor Norway and WiMP are expanding their cooperation. The Telenor-owned low cost operator djuice, who are launching the add-on service +WiMP today, will be the first to offer WiMP. Telenor will also be offering WiMP to its mobile customers during the spring.
